Known By God

Known By God

People spend much of their life putting on a façade. They may want to conceal the shame of who they were or who they are. All facades hope to convey an image that is desired or envied by others. But in an effort to keep up that façade, we can lose our sense of identity entirely. With God, however, putting on a facade is vain and futile.

God pursues you, God knows the real you. He knows you better than you will ever know yourself. Better than the parents that raised you, the wife or husband that married you, the best friend you've known your entire life. God knows the real you. Psalm 139: 1-3 reads: "O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways." Before a thought forms in my mind or a word departs from my mouth, God's foreknowledge knows what that sentence will be. Before every action, good or evil, sorrowful or hopeful, God knows it completely.

God is closer than you think. I can never escape His constant presence. So what does the God who knows everything think about me? "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine." To all who belong to God in Jesus Christ, He knows you by name. You are precious in His sight.

So friends, come just as you are. Fear not. You are fully known and fully loved because of Jesus.
