The Beautiful Book – 1 Samuel

1 Samuel

Israel wants a king to rule over them, and we learn how human leaders will always fail because spiritual health is not inherited, and that power corrupts. However, above all the limitations of man’s power, God alone is powerful and God is our hero.

1 Samuel

Saul is anointed King, but strays and disobeys God and remains unrepentant; conversely, while David too committed sins, he repents and confesses when he is confronted. God holds us accountable for our rebellious choices, but is merciful to grant forgiveness when there is sincere repentance.
