Salvation through Jesus Christ is such a blessing to us believers. We are rescued from the guilt of our sin, from shame, and from fear of condemnation before a holy God. We are justified, adopted, redeemed and reconciled. Yet, there is an even greater purpose to our salvation in Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 1:6 says, "To the praise of the glory of His grace, wherein He hath made us accepted in the beloved." We are saved for a higher purpose, namely, the glory of God. Yes, it is true that God's salvation brings us joy, peace, assurance, and hope. However, seeing things from God's point of view, we learn that salvation is not primarily about man, it is primarily about Him. In other words, our salvation is ultimately for His glory. God's purpose in our salvation is so that we may be vessels of mercy, that all of creation will praise Him for His grace and mercy.
Moreover, God's purpose for our salvation is so that there will be a whole redeemed race of humanity that will be like Jesus. They will then be able to properly give glory and honour to Jesus Christ, something fallen man can never do. Truly, eternity will ring of praise to the good and gracious God for His salvation through Jesus His Son.
As such, the purpose of our salvation is greater than just blessing our lives. It is loftier, greater and grander. It is supremely about the eternal glory of God.
