In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” Genesis 1:1. And the Bible continues to say that God created the entire world in six 24-hour days. An interpretation of the Scripture says that the account in Genesis is not real literal history, with a literal “very good” creation, with a literal Adam and Eve and that sin did not literally enter the world through their actions. And therefore, you and I do not literally need to be saved. This is where the rubber meets the road. As Christians, it is because of this literal account in history, that we need the Gospel. May this sermon by guest speaker Gary Bates shed further light on the Bible’s account of creation and how it is intimately linked with the Gospel.
