Timeless Truth

We are living in truthless times. But to live strong in a world that seeks to draw us away from God, we must resolve to be filled with timeless truth. As the world assaults us from the outside, we need to be strengthened from the inside. God's word, the scriptures, must be our daily nourishment. 

The Bible is the bestseller of all time with 5 billion copies sold worldwide. But the tragedy is that not all that have been sold are being read, and even fewer are being studied! Jesus understood the importance of God's word in a Christian's life. His final prayer for his disciples was to "Sanctify them through thy truth, thy Word is truth." (John 17:17) He believed that God's Word was able to sanctify, protect and set them apart so that they could live strong in an anti-God world.

The evangelist D.L. Moody was absolutely right when he said, "The Bible will keep you from sin, or sin will keep you from the Bible." May we ask the Spirit to give us a deep hunger and thirst for God's Word. May we not become sloppy, lazy or careless when we handle the Word of life. May you have a firm grasp of the timeless truths in truthless times, that you may truly live strong today!
