The 6th–10th commandments teach love for neighbour. Given to Israel, they show how to become a gracious society—a people made beautiful not just by the land, but by the way they live. 1. THE DESCRIPTION. By the last five commandments, Israel is to love one another by honouring life, guarding faithfulness, living generously, and walking in truth: even in the details of daily life. 2. THE DESIRE. God has always desired His people to be a beautiful, blissful people of love - from Eden, through Israel, to the new creation, and His church today. 3. THE DEPENDENCE. The Law could not make Israel beautiful. Only the Lord Himself can. And so it is for us. Only Christ and His Spirit can change us.
